"So tomorrow is my birthday, I'll be 22! If I could stand face to face with who I was 10 years ago, I would say... 'You're beautiful..'. See, in middle school, everyone had a boyfriend. I would see all the girls getting gifts from them and everything. All I wanted back then was a boyfriend. BUT then I realized that I was putting too much time into boys and not enough time in those books! So I would tell my 11 year old self... 'You're beautiful... you got this one day... you're going to bloom into a wonderful young lady and you don't need a man to do so'. (smiles)
I feel like I'm destined to be somebody. Like, I feel like I'm destined to achieve my goals such as being on Broadway. Like, that's one of my biggest dreams. Not being able to achieve that is one of my biggest fears.
My inspiration to pursue theater came from growing up in the church. They would have these Easter plays and stuff. So one year (I was really young) they ended up casting me as the mother of the church in one of the plays. Just being in front of the congregation and performing gave me this adrenaline rush. I Loved it! And that's when I knew this was something I really wanted to do."- Amanda
